Counselor

Ryan Thomason, MSW, LSW

Bio:

Ryan is a compassionate Social Worker that strives to provide a space for all who need support and a space to process life’s challenges. His strengths as a clinician include goal oriented approaches, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Ryan started Ohio’s first LGBTQIA+ Smart Recovery meeting in 2020 as a supportive space for those with queer experiences who are seeking to end disruptive behaviors. This has helped to develop a robust experience with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that has since been used in working in group therapy, individual therapy, and crisis situations. He’s worked as a Case Manager and Counselor with local peer support programs to assist clients with identifying basic needs and challenges, while providing space to process cognitive challenges that have developed along the way.

Ryan has also worked as a Crisis Clinician with local law enforcement to provide clinical support and a listening ear to those experiencing a mental health emergency or considering suicide.
