Jaklyn Severance has over 10 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families to reduce symptoms and improve overall satisfaction in life .
She has experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings. Her experience includes working in the school system, hospital system, office settings, and home to reduce symptoms and build supports. Jaklyn collaborates with clients in creating individual treatment goals to allow for client’s to make positive changes in their life. She uses nurturing parenting skills to reduce family dysfunction and engage families in setting boundaries while building bonds. She works part time in a hospital setting running intensive outpatient groups for adults with mood disorders. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused to build skills and challenge thinking patterns. Most importantly, she values the importance of building a therapeutic relationship and uses that to empower clients toward making positive changes.
