Bio:

David Smith is one of the founders and owners of Behavioral Health Services of Greater Cleveland. He has been providing counseling and social work services since 1992. For close to 30 years he has demonstrated a commitment and passion for clients through his work in a variety of settings. David values clients first and brings a welcoming and accepting attitude to each counseling experience. He strives to create an environment that encourages people to honestly express their concerns to begin the healing process immediately. David believes that our life experience shapes how we react to our environment, and by learning from our past, and interacting mindfully with our present, we can experience peace and calm.

David is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Ohio who helps people from age twelve through older adulthood. He specializes in treating a variety of mental health issues and chemical use disorders. He works with individuals; adolescents and young adults; couples and families; middle aged adults and the older adult population.

Prior to starting Behavioral Health Services of Greater Cleveland with his two partners, David worked in community mental health and chemical dependency treatment centers, private practice and the medical social work field.
