Mary Rose Tichar, a career counselor and coach, is a licensed professional counselor with 22 years experience of helping individuals identify their talent and then connect to the world of work, and for cultivating talent for job effectiveness. She has a passion for identifying talent and nurturing it.
Mary Rose works with people in all phases of the career journey – students planning their college career through to the encore career phase of life. Her strengths-based approach starts with an understanding of personality preferences and talent, and how they influence personal and career satisfaction. Mary Rose will consider each person’s career situation and then develop a process that will optimize professional and career development and foster a meaningful life at work.
Mary Rose uses narrative therapy along with the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory. For the seasoned professional, an emotional intelligence instrument can be administered. Career counseling can include a variety of topics such as: preparing for college and choosing a major, prepare for the job search with a resume and interview skills, identify a job that aligns with personal values and strengths, growing and thriving at work, communication strategies for professional and interpersonal effectiveness, living with success and with failure, readiness for advanced positions within an established career, and others.
